Ellie Maltby is a qualified Social Worker with frontline experience supporting children and their families through a wide range of social work pathways. Her practice background includes roles as a Social Worker, Manager, Practice Educator, and Mentor, with significant experience in Referral and Assessment, Child in Need planning, Child Protection, Care Proceedings, adoption services, work with care-experienced children and young people, and support for those leaving care.
As a Practice Educator, Ellie has supported both Social Work Students and Newly Qualified Social Workers, a role that shaped her strong commitment to developing confident, reflective, and child-centred practitioners. Through her work as a Typology and Live Learning mentor, she champions relational, strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to support new social workers in applying theory to practice and developing high-quality direct work.
Ellie is passionate about helping children make sense of their own journeys within social care. She advocates for direct participation, meaningful engagement, and child-centred planning that places each child's voice at the heart of their story and outcomes.
